I design internal alterations and extensions only where they form part of an integrated retrofit strategy.
This ensures that new spaces enhance comfort, energy performance, and layout efficiency instead of being “add-ons” that compromise the building’s overall performance.

Retrofit Feasibility & Survey Coordination

Early-stage feasibility work to understand your home’s condition and potential before design begins.
I identify which surveys or assessments are needed, help you appoint surveyors, and interpret results so design decisions are based on facts rather than assumptions.

Retrofit-Integrated Loft Conversions

Most loft conversions give you a room.
I design lofts that also prepare your home for future comfort, air quality, and energy performance — bringing the loft inside the insulated envelope and planning a sensible strategy for MVHR and services.

Project Scope Limits

To stay focused on proper, high-performance retrofit work, I don’t take on:

• Projects outside Northern Ireland

• Jobs where a builder, client, or third party supplies their own drawings for me to “finish” or “submit”

• Requests for “plans for builder to price” or similar draft-only drawing sets

• Purely decorative refurbishments with no comfort or energy objectives

• Design-and-build arrangements where the design role is reduced to compliance paperwork
